But the French team has to pass the preliminary round in Champions League.
Something that, according to the president Jean Donnadieu, is unfair.

“We got a dossier to apply for next EuroCup and we will do that” Donnadieu said. “We are not lucky because last season Le Mans, as winner of French Cup, was qualified to the Champions League main round. This year we won the Cup and an European Competition and we have to pass through the qualification round. We won FIBA Europe Cup and this give us nothing” Donnadieu told Le Parisien. “Everytime there is a new rule. It is not a normal thing”.

Four Spanish clubs confirmed in Basketball Champions League


MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) – Three more Spanish clubs will join title holders Iberostar Tenerife in the 2017-18 Basketball Champions League: UCAM Murcia, Movistar Estudiantes and Divina Seguros Joventut.

The success of the inaugural season of the Basketball Champions League combined with the final victory of Iberostar Tenerife, the only Spanish representative last season, has raised strong interest in Spain. The decision of UCAM Murcia, Movistar Estudiantes and Divina Seguros Joventut to participate in the Basketball Champions League provides the competition with a significant Spanish presence in its second year.

Movistar Estudiantes and Divina Seguros Joventut mark their return to European competitions, where they have achieved major success. Movistar Estudiantes, with three Spanish Cups and many Euroleague participations, is a prominent force in Spanish basketball. Divina Seguros Joventut holds one Euroleague trophy, one EuroCup, one EuroChallenge, two Korać Cups, four Spanish championships and eight Spanish Cups. UCAM Murcia, in its first European participation, attained the Top 16 of EuroCup last season.

The newly-confirmed clubs will face stiff competition in the Basketball Champions League which features top clubs from across Europe which qualify as a result of their performances in domestic leagues.

"I’m delighted to welcome four clubs from one of the strongest leagues in Europe and I’m convinced they will bring something special to next year’s competition," said Basketball Champions League CEO Patrick Comninos.

"Their presence underscores the successful experience of Iberostar Tenerife, winner of the trophy last season, and we are pleased to see more Spanish clubs convinced by the truly pan-European nature of the Basketball Champions League and its focus on providing a great international competition for clubs based on merit.

"We are also thrilled to see that historical clubs chose the Basketball Champions League for their return to European competitions," he said.

The new Basketball Champions League Regular Season gets under way on October 10. This year 32 teams will contest the Regular Season with eight qualifiers joining 24 directly qualified clubs. They will play in four groups of 8 teams each with the top four in each group going through to a home and away Round of 16 ahead of the Quarter-Finals which will determine the Final Four. The Final Four weekend will be hosted in the home city of one of the qualifying clubs.

The full line-up for the season will be announced next week. An initial draw sorting the Qualification Rounds and the Regular Season phase will take place on Tuesday 11 July at the House of Basketball in Geneva, Switzerland.

MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) - Basketball Champions League has confirmed today that French Top 4 ranked clubs have all sign-up for the 2017/18 season.

AS Monaco, Elan Chalon, Nanterre 92 and SIG Strasbourg will participate in the second edition of the Basketball Champions League alongside top clubs from across the continent. The national champion will be decided on Friday after the decisive final game between Elan Chalon and SIG Strasbourg.

According to the ranking established by the LNB, the two finalists of the Play-Offs are classified in 1st and 2nd place and the winner of the Regular Season in 3rd place while the Cup Winner is 4th. All of the clubs registered for the Basketball Champions League have also occupied the top 4 positions in the standings of the Regular Season, confirming that these four clubs have been consistently the very best during this season.

French Regular Season champions AS Monaco and winners for the second consecutive year of the Leaders Cup, made a major impact in the first edition of Basketball Champions League, taking third place, while second placed Elan Chalon are former French champions, twice Cup Winners and were runners-up in last season’s FIBA Europe Cup.

Nanterre 92, who won last season’s FIBA Europe Cup are also former national Champions and twice Cup winners while fourth-placed SIG Strasbourg has become a powerhouse in France after participating in the last five Pro A’s Finals, winning the title in 2015.

"We are naturally delighted to have the four best-performing clubs in France register for this upcoming season. They have all qualified on merit for this year’s edition and they will contribute to the high standard of the competition to be witnessed by fans across Europe," said Basketball Champions League CEO Patrick Comninos.

"France is a strong and growing basketball market and we salute the clubs and thank the LNB for recognizing the importance and growth potential of Basketball Champions League as a truly pan-European competition where qualification is earned by on-court performances.

MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) – Twenty one current national champions are among the 56 teams which will take part in the 2017-18 Basketball Champions League which gets under way on September 19 with the first of three qualifying rounds ahead of Regular Season tip off on October 10.

The final lineup was validated and confirmed by the Board of Basketball Champions League meeting at the House of Basketball today.

Eight national finalists and six semi-finalists will also take part of the second season of the Basketball Champions League which will feature clubs coming from 32 different European countries.

Basketball Champions League CEO Patrick Comninos said the 2017-18 lineup is evidence that the competition is strengthening and growing based on all measures. It remains true to its goal of delivering a competitive European competition which reflects basketball right across the continent and is open to all clubs which qualify on merit through their domestic league performances.

"The first season of the competition was an outstanding success and the strength of this year’s field suggests that it will get even tougher on the court and even more fascinating for hundreds of thousands of fans across Europe who follow at arenas, through great TV coverage and via social media where we have built over 600,000 Facebook followers in a single season," he said.

Ο CEO του Basketball Champions League ανέλυσε τα δεδομένα για τη νέα διοργάνωση, τονίζοντας πως οι ομάδες δεν χρειάζεται να... ματώνουν οικονομικά για να αγωνίζονται σε αυτήν

Συνέντευξη στον ΣΠΟΡ FM 94,6 παραχώρησε ο Πατρίκ Κομνηνός, τονίζοντας πως η Ευρωλίγκα αποτελεί φάρο για το ChampionsLeague, το οποίο είναι η 2η τη τάξει διοργάνωση στην Ευρώπη. Αναλυτικά όσα είπε:

Για την ανάπτυξη του Basketball Champions League: «Είμαι της άποψης ότι αν δουλέψει κάποιος μεθοδικά, διασφαλίζει ένα αντίστοιχο επίπεδο σε μία διοργάνωση. Τίποτα δεν έχει κριθεί. Είναι ένας μαραθώνιος που έχουμε κάνει. Ευελπιστούμε με την πάροδο του χρόνου να αποκτήσει τη θέση που αρμόζει στο Basketball Champions League. Είναι δουλειά, η οποία έχει χτιστεί με βάσεις που ανταποκρίνονται σε κάποιες αξίες και σιγά σιγά οι ομάδες τις αντιλαμβάνονται. Βλέπουν την προσοχή που δείχνουμε στα εθνικά πρωταθλήματα και προσελκύουμε τις ομάδες που είναι ψηλά στη βαθμολογία. Κανείς δεν έχει εξασφαλισμένη θέση στη διοργάνωση. Είμαστε της άποψης, ότι τα παιχνίδια κρίνονται στον αγωνιστικό χώρο και ο καλύτερος μπορεί να προσδοκά σε μία συμμετοχή σε ευρωπαϊκή διοργάνωση».

Για το αν το Basketball Champions League μπορεί να γίνει η δεύτερη τη τάξει ευρωπαϊκή διασυλλογική διοργάνωση: «Δεν μας αρέσει να κάνουμε σύγκριση. Προφανώς η Ευρωλίγκα με τη 15ετή παρουσία της, έχει χτίσει μία αξιόλογη διαφορά και είναι ο φάρος. Δεν υπάρχουν μετρήσιμα μεγέθη. Βλέπουμε το επίπεδο και τον αριθμό των πρωταθλητών. Βλέπουμε τις παροχές και το επίπεδο της διοργάνωσης. Βλέπουμε το πλαίσιο που χτίζει και θεωρούμε ότι είμαστε η δεύτερη τη τάξει διοργάνωση. Έχουμε χρόνο ακόμη για να φτάσουμε την Ευρωλίγκα και κάτι τέτοιο σιγά σιγά θα προσπαθήσουμε να το χτίσουμε».

Για τα έσοδα στο Basketball Champions League: «Για εμάς υπάρχει ένα βασικό μοντέλο. Ότι οι ομάδες δεν πρέπει να… ματώσουν οικονομικά με τη συμμετοχή τους. Υπάρχουν ομάδες που δαπανούν υπέρογκα ποσά, κάτι που συμβαίνει στην Ευρωλίγκα και εάν δεν πάνε καλά τότε έχουν προβλήματα. Εμείς έχουμε δύο βασικές αρχές. Πρώτον, παρέχουμε ένα περιβάλλον που δεν θα επωμιστούν κάποια έξοδα. Τηλεοπτική κάλυψη, στήσιμο γηπέδων και διαιτησίας. Μοιράζουμε 3,5 εκατ. στις ομάδες, με τον νικητή να παίρνει 1 εκατ. ευρώ. Ευελπιστούμε μία ομάδα να καλύψει ένα ποσοστό 15-20% του μπάτζετ της. Αυτό δεν συμβαίνει στην Ευρωλίγκα, με αποτέλεσμα εκεί οι ομάδες να μην μπορούν να υποστηρίξουν τους προϋπολογισμούς τους. Φέτος, πολλές ομάδες επέστρεψαν σε εμάς, καθώς ήταν ικανοποιημένες από πέρυσι».

Για την επιστροφή στη διοργάνωση των περισσότερων ομάδων που ήταν και πέρυσι: «Ισχύει αυτό, με εξαίρεση την Παρτίζαν που επέλεξε το Eurocup. Όλες που αγωνίστηκαν πέρυσι και φέτος είχαν την ευκαιρία να συμμετάσχουν, επέστρεψαν. Εμείς κοιτάμε τα αποτελέσματα των εθνικών πρωταθλημάτων και ομάδες που έχουν υψηλές θέσεις στα πρωταθλήματά τους. Έτσι, ενισχύονται τα εθνικά πρωταθλήματα και έτσι μπορούμε να το στηρίξουμε».

Για τη συμμετοχή των ελληνικών ομάδων και τα έσοδά τους στη διοργάνωση: «Στις διοργανώσεις μέχρι πρότινος, οι ομάδες είχαν υποχρεώσεις περισσότερες από τα έσοδά τους. Αυτό δεν ισχύει σε εμάς, γιατί όλα αυτά τα αναλαμβάνουμε κεντρικά και εξασφαλίζουμε σε κάθε ομάδα έναν μίνιμουμ ποσό 50.000 ευρώ για τη συμμετοχή τους και αυτό αυξάνεται όσο προχωράει. Ο νικητής παίρνει 1 εκατ. ευρώ, ο δεύτερος 400.000 ευρώ κ.ο.κ. Το τελικό ποσό εξαρτάται από την τελική θέση, αλλά πλέον οι ομάδες δεν έχουν έξτρα έξοδα».

Για τη διαφορά με το ποδόσφαιρο: «Προερχόμενος από την ΟΥΕΦΑ, εκεί διοργανώναμε δύο διοργανώσεις με έναν κύκλο εργασιών 3,2 δις ετησίως. Ο αντίστοιχος στο μπάσκετ συμπεριλαμβανομένων όλων των διοργανώσεων ακόμη και της Ευρωλίγκας, δεν πλησιάζει τα 50 εκατ. ευρώ. Οπότε αντιλαμβάνεται κανείς για τι χαώδη διαφορά μιλάμε. Όλοι συμφωνούμε ότι πρόκειται για μία τεράστια ανομοιομορφία. Το μπάσκετ έχει τις επιτυχίες, αλλά έχει χάσει πολλές ευκαιρίες να αναπτυχθεί υγιώς. Με εξαίρεση τις 11 ομάδες που έχουν εγγυημένο συμβόλαιο, καμία άλλη δεν ξέρει που θα παίζει του χρόνου. Αυτό δεν βοηθάει πουθενά. Όλα αυτά η ΟΥΕΦΑ τα έχει ξεκαθαρίσει εδώ και χρόνια. Ελπίζουμε κάποια στιγμή, να μπορέσαμε να ανοίξουμε τον διάλογο προς όφελος του μπάσκετ».

Γαλλία, Ιταλία και Ελλάδα δείχνουν ξεκάθαρη προτίμηση στο BCL. VTB, Λιθουανία και αδριατική στο Eurocup, Ρωσία Τουρκια, Ισπανία Γερμανία και Ισραήλ είναι κάτι ενδιάμεσο. Θεωρώ πάντως ότι θα έπρεπε να καταργηθεί το Γιουροκαπ καθώς είναι τελείως άσκοπο να υπάρχουν 2 διοργανώσεις ισάξιες κατώτερες της ευρωλίγκας.

Δεν είναι ισάξιες οι δυο διοργανώσεις σε τίποτε, το Eurocup είναι κλάσεις ανώτερο.

Απόλυτα συμφωνούμε. Σε δυναμικότητα υπάρχει τεράστια διαφορά μεταξύ των δύο διοργανώσεων.

Νομίζω μειώθηκε το χάσμα των δύο διοργανώσεων σε σχέση με πέρυσι (παίζουν ρόλο και οι 5 ισπανικές στην Ευρωλίγκα φέτος), αλλά το Eurocup παραμένει ένα κλικ μπροστά.

Αν αυτο το κλικ που λες ειναι η Ουνιξ συμφωνω,για τους αλλους συνεχιζω να επιμενω οτι δεν υπαρχουν διαφορες.

Όχι μόνο, υπάρχουν τουλάχιστον 5 ομάδες καλύτερες από τις κορυφαίες του CL όπως η Galata, η Darussafaka, η Bayern, η Hapoel, η Kuban. Πάντως η διαφορά δεν είναι τόσο μεγάλη πια.

Γνωμη μου ειναι πως οι ομαδες που αναφερεις δεν ειναι καλυτερες (εμφανως τουλαχιστον) απο Μπανβιτ,Μπεσικτας,AEK,Ρεγιερ,Τενεριφη πχ

Θα συμφωνήσω μόνο για την Besiktas ότι θα ήταν στα φαβορί στο Eurocup καθώς διατήρησε κάποια δυνατά ονόματα σε σχέση με το περσινό ρόστερ προεξάρχοντος του Clark (πολύ καλός παίκτης για να μην έχει καλές προτάσεις από ομάδα Ευρωλίγκας), αλλά όχι για τις υπόλοιπες. Η Banvit είναι κάπως αποδυναμωμένη πλέον, η Τενερίφη και η Murcia αισθητά πίσω από την Gran Canaria π.χ., οι ιταλικές, γαλλικές και ελληνικές θα ήταν στο δεύτερο γκρουπ δυναμικότητας στο Eurocup.

Η Χαποέλ Ιερουσαλήμ θα έπαιρνε το τσου λου αήττητη ρε παιδιά. Γνώμη μου ότι αν έπαιζαν πρωτάθλημα, από τις ομάδες του τσου λου θα έμπαιναν στη δεκάδα οι δύο. Είναι εμφανής η διαφορά, αν και όχι χαώδης.

όπως βλέπω ο όμιλος της ΑΕΚ που είναι η καλύτερη από τις ελληνικές είναι αρκετά δύσκολος, ελπίζω θα καταφέρει να τερματίσει έστω 4η. Ο ΠΑΟΚ θεωρώ ότι δεν μπορεί να υποσκελίσει Σαλόν, Λουντβισμπουργκ και Τενερίφη αλλά μπορεί να το παλέψει για την 4η θέση. Στον Άρη λόγω προβλημάτων δεν δίνω ελπίδες

Eίναι όντως υπερβολικό, εκ πρώτης όψεος τουλάχιστον.

Στις πρωτοκλασάτες ομάδες επιμένω πως το Eurocup εχει το πάνω χέρι, αν βάζαμε τις τοπ-8. Όντως όταν το επεικτείνουμε στις τοπ-16 η διαφορά είναι μικρότερη.

Οι διαφορές είναι αρκετά σημαντικές και φαίνονται απλά και μόνο από την σύγκριση των πρώτων φαβορί των δύο διοργανώσεων. Στο BCL όπως γράφτηκε παραπάνω η ΑΕΚ είναι τρίτο φαβορί. Στο Eurocup θα είχε πρόβλημα να βρει θέση ακόμα και στις 10 καλύτερες.

Απο φετος ομως η img μπαινει χορηγος και στο eurocup ενω με διαφορες επιπλεον χορηγιες το γιουροκαπ θα καλυπτει και αυτο τα εξοδα διαιτητων,ταξιδιων κτλ και συμφωνα με τους ιδιους θα δινουν παραπανω χρηματα απο το champions league χωρις παντως να εχω βρει ακριβες ποσο μεχρι τωρα
